FIRST SERVICE CREDIT UNION is seeking a loan processor to collect, verify, and evaluate loan documentation to prepare and submit files for underwriting and closing. You will manage the pipeline to ensure timely closings and serve as the primary contact for applicants during the process.
The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, a 2-year degree or equivalent certification, and strong communication skills.
Role:To collect, verify and evaluate loan documentation such as debt-to-income ratios, credit reports, income sources, and other documentation to prepare and submit detailed loan files for underwriting and closing.
Collects, verifies and organizes loan files for submission to underwriting and closing.
Ensures that all information is correct on current loan application before submitting to underwriting.
Orders 3rd party services as assigned for each loan product.
Manages pipeline to ensure that all closing dates are met.
Answers applicant’s incoming calls and emails regarding loan status in a timely manner. Point of contact for applicants during the loan process.
Requests updated or additional documentation from applicants as needed.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills: Must have good communication skills. 10-key calculator, typewriter, and keyboard skills.
