INTERNATIONAL BANK OF COMMERCE in Laredo, TX is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to drive residential mortgage business. This position requires a proactive approach to solicit new opportunities and maintain client relationships.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a solid understanding of mortgage products. Educational qualifications include a high school diploma; a college degree and 2 years of experience is preferred. The position offers a full-time in-office environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Develops and maintains a quality network of business relationships for new mortgage opportunities.
• Evaluates and recommends approval of applications for residential real estate loans.
• Educates the prospective borrower in the home buying and financing process.

Responsibilities

• Solicits new residential mortgage business and works bank referral leads.
• Maintains regular contact with borrowers and Realtors between application and closing.
• Assists borrowers in understanding and clearing credit problems.

Ability to calculate qualifying income from federal tax returns

Education

High School graduate or equivalent

College degree preferred

2 years recent experience preferred in residential loan originations

RMLO license highly preferred (NMLS registration required)

Knowledge of Conventional and Government Mortgage products

Knowledge of processing, underwriting, closing and funding of mortgage loans
