Job summary

Russell Tobin is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) to help clients navigate the residential mortgage process, identify loan options, and drive transactions from application through funding. You will work directly with customers, discuss loan options, collect and verify application information, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure a smooth process.

Required: current NMLS license, 2–5 years of mortgage origination experience, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and

• 2–5 years of mortgage origination experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Review loan applications for completeness and accuracy, including borrower assets, liabilities, and employment history.

• Identify and communicate discrepancies related to title, surveys, and other loan documentation.
• Resolve service, credit decision, funding, and post-close issues using sound judgment.
• Build and maintain strong customer and internal relationships.
• Spend a significant portion of working time meeting with customers and prospective borrowers.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with prospective and existing customers seeking residential mortgage financing.
• Discuss and advise clients on available home loan options.
• Collect, verify, and input mortgage application information.
• Review loan applications for completeness and accuracy, including borrower assets, liabilities, and employment history.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure a smooth and efficient loan process.
• Identify and communicate discrepancies related to title, surveys, and other loan documentation.
• Resolve service, credit decision, funding, and post-close issues using sound judgment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid NMLS license/appointment in good standing.
• Applicable state licensing required.
• 2-5 years of mortgage origination experience preferred.
• Must meet at least one of the following:
• Currently funding 3+ loans per month, OR
• Completed Xinnix Loan Origination Training, OR
• Assigned an approved Origination Mentor through the branch.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage detailed assignments, and maintain confidentiality.
• Willingness to travel as required.

*** Salary Range- $150.000 - $250.000
