Job summary

Ascension Credit Union is looking for an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer / Processor to join our Lending Team. This unique role combines mortgage lending and processing, guiding members from application through closing.

You will originate and manage residential loans, review credit and income documents, coordinate appraisals and title work, and provide clear disclosures while maintaining compliant loan files.

Qualifications

• Experience in mortgage lending and processing within banking or credit union environments.
• Strong knowledge of residential mortgage processes and lending guidelines.
• Excellent communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to analyze financial information and explain mortgage options clearly.

Responsibilities

• Meet with members to understand homeownership goals and propose mortgage solutions.
• Originate and manage residential loans from application through closing.
• Review credit, income, assets, liabilities, collateral, and other financial information.
• Collect, verify, and process required mortgage documentation.
• Order and review appraisals, title work, flood certs, insurance, and other services.
• Provide disclosures and maintain compliant loan files.
• Coordinate with members, attorneys, title companies, appraisers, and others to close loans.
• Communicate with members and resolve issues or outstanding requirements.
• Build relationships with real estate professionals and referral sources.

Ascension Credit Union is looking for an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer / Processor to join our Lending Team.

This unique position combines mortgage lending and processing, allowing you to work directly with members and guide them through the entire mortgage experience, from the first conversation and application all the way to the closing table.

What You'll Do:

• Meet with members to understand their homeownership goals and recommend appropriate mortgage solutions.
• Originate and manage residential mortgage loans from application through closing.
• Review credit, income, assets, liabilities, collateral, and other financial information.
• Collect, verify, and process required mortgage documentation.
• Order and review appraisals, title work, flood certifications, insurance, and other required services.
• Provide required disclosures and maintain accurate and compliant loan files.
• Coordinate with members, attorneys, title companies, appraisers, and other parties to keep loans moving toward closing.
• Communicate with members throughout the process and proactively resolve issues or outstanding requirements.
• Build relationships with real estate professionals, builders, community partners, and other referral sources.
• Help grow Ascension Credit Union's mortgage lending presence throughout the communities we serve.

What We're Looking For

• Mortgage lending, mortgage processing, loan origination, banking, credit union, or related financial services experience.
• Strong knowledge of residential mortgage lending and the home buying process.
• Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple loans and deadlines.
• Ability to analyze financial information and explain mortgage options in an understandable way.
• A relationship focused professional who enjoys helping people and developing new business.
• Applicable NMLS registration and licensing requirements must be satisfied.
