Job summary

TD Bank US is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer in New York, NY to originate residential mortgage loans and meet sales goals. The role guides customers through the application process, explains loan options, and ensures accurate submissions with underwriting and processing teams.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years in mortgage origination, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to plan activities to achieve sales targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or progressive work experience in mortgage origination.
• 2+ years of mortgage origination experience.
• Proven sales ability.
• Developing knowledge of mortgage industry, lending practices and regulatory guidelines.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Self-directed, ability to plan own activities to achieve sales goals.
• Strong time management skills.
• PC skills, including ability to learn mortgage origination systems.

Responsibilities

• Meets with prospects identified directly as well as referred by realtors, developers, attorneys and other sources.
• Explains mortgage products and services and offers recommendations based on needs.
• Guides customers through the mortgage application process.
• Ensures applications are complete with required information and documentation.
• Sells and originates residential mortgage loans according to policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Develops plans to achieve sales goals with management support.
• Enters information into the mortgage loan system for pipeline accuracy.
• Communicates loan decisions to customers and explains additional information needed.
• Attends closings as needed and stays compliant with audits.
