Job summary

Avadian Credit Union in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to help borrowers find the right mortgage solutions and close complex deals.

You will originate, acquire, and market high-quality residential loans, leveraging unique products to help you close outside-the-box loans while maintaining strong member service and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator with external sales experience.
• Strong ability to build and maintain high-quality referral networks.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
• Solid understanding of agency and investor guidelines.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the team.

Responsibilities

• Originate, acquire, and market high-quality residential loans.
• Have access to competitive products like one-time close conventional/VA construction loans and in-house portfolio options.
• Build and grow a strong network of referral partners (Realtors, builders, financial planners, local professionals).
• Develop and execute creative marketing strategies to generate new mortgage business.
• Deliver exceptional member service with knowledge of lending programs, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Structure loans to meet member needs and federal/state guidelines.
• Cross-sell additional credit union products and services.
• Analyze all loan documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
