Job summary

Huntington National Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to provide exceptional customer service and develop mortgage loan business. This position is onsite in Columbus, OH and requires maintaining close relationships with clients and referral sources. Candidates should have mortgage origination experience and an NMLS license.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, be organized, and have a good understanding of mortgage loan products and procedures. Full-time authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Qualifications

• One or more years of mortgage loan origination experience, preferably at a bank.
• Knowledge of mortgage procedures, documentation, and underwriting guidelines.
• Ability to multi-task and manage a pipeline and book of business.

Summary: The Mortgage Loan Officer - Retail position provides Simply the Best customer service to each customer at all times. Responsibilities include using internal and external referral sources to develop mortgage loan business and building and maintaining business relationships within the community. The position is onsite and located in Columbus, OH.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop new and expand internal and external referral sources to grow mortgage business.
• Use consultative selling techniques to advise clients on mortgage loan options and other financial products.
• Provide excellent customer service from approval through closing, working closely with loan origination sources to secure and verify all information required for underwriting.
• Maintain client relationships.
• Advise customers on the completion of loan applications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One or more years of mortgage loan origination experience, preferably at a bank.
• NMLS license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pipeline and book of business.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of mortgage loan products (conventional, FHA/VA, construction lending and portfolio programs).
• Knowledge of mortgage procedures, documentation, and underwriting guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to cross‑sell financial products and services.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to multi‑task.
• PC – Internet skill.
