Job summary

Canvas Mortgage, part of the FM Bank family, invites applications for a Mortgage Loan Officer in Lafayette / Breaux Bridge, LA. You will guide clients through the mortgage process from initial consultation to closing, leveraging Encompass and maintaining regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of residential mortgage experience, strong customer service, excellent communication, and an active NMLS license or ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer or similar role.
• Proficient with Encompass loan origination software.
• Active NMLS license or ability to obtain before start.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and lending regulations.

Responsibilities

• Originate and manage residential mortgage loan applications from start to finish.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, real estate agents, and referral partners.
• Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine loan feasibility.
• Educate borrowers on loan options and guide them in selecting the best mortgage solutions.
• Utilize Encompass to manage loan files, documentation, and pipeline efficiently.
• Ensure all loans meet company guidelines and regulatory compliance standards.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the loan process.
• Meet or exceed monthly production and performance goals.
