The Retail Lending Closer supports consumer and mortgage loan closings by preparing, reviewing, and coordinating all required closing documentation within Encompass. This role ensures accuracy, regulatory compliance, and completion of due diligence requirements while partnering closely with lending, underwriting, and settlement teams to support timely and compliant loan closings.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and coordinate consumer and mortgage loan closing documentation using Encompass, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Review loan approvals, supporting documentation, and system data to confirm regulatory requirements (including TRID) and due diligence standards are met prior to closing.
- Prepare and distribute required disclosures and closing documents in accordance with internal policy, regulatory, and investor guidelines.
- Send closing instructions and review settlement statements to ensure accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
- Partner with lending staff and third parties to identify, communicate, and resolve documentation deficiencies ahead of scheduled closings.
- Verify underwriting and funding conditions are satisfied and approved prior to closing.
- Obtain and validate required documentation to support closing and fund disbursement.
- Maintain clear, timely communication with internal teams and external partners throughout the closing lifecycle.
- Build working knowledge of assigned consumer and mortgage products, origination systems, and applicable laws and procedures.

Required Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of hands‑on mortgage closing experience using Encompass LOS (required)

- Basic mathematical and calculation skills to ensure accuracy in financial documentation.
