Job summary

Carter Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Assistant to support the loan origination lifecycle and collaborate with Mortgage Loan Originators and the Pipeline & Delivery Manager to ensure a smooth transaction. The role emphasizes compliance with ECOA and HMDA, including adverse action and HMDA reporting, with a balanced sales and operations focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior banking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review the initial loan application, supporting documentation, and credit authorization for accuracy and completion with the customer.
• Keep current understanding of all loan program guidelines, pricing, policies and procedures.
• Provide weekly status updates of files in progress to MLO, Referral Partner and Client.
• Process borrower documents in an accurate and timely manner following proper internal protocol and procedures.
• Communicate and partner closely with operations to ensure a smooth and accurate loan process.
• Provide back up support for Mortgage Loan Originators who are out of the office.
• Perform post-closing follow up with clients regarding first payments and servicing.
• Assist with monitoring pipelines for key dates to ensure deadlines and objectives are met.
• Assist with HMDA/Adverse Action related reporting.
• Identify relevant bank products and services based on customer needs.
• Serve as ongoing contact for Mortgage Loan Originators and Pipeline Delivery Manager.
