Qualifications

• Familiar with mortgage lending requirements, regulations and procedures for VA and conventional loan programs.
• Must register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry; includes fingerprinting and background checks.
• Ability to analyze, apply and communicate complex written legal documents.
• Strong verbal presentation and public speaking skills.
• Advanced proficiency with word processing and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Interview and counsel members about first mortgage loans and take loan applications.
• Establish and maintain personal relationships with members and realtors; guide loans from application to closing.
• Ensure all required processing information (employment, assets, income, liabilities, appraisals, investor requirements) is complete.
• Maintain contact with members, realtors, and sellers throughout the loan process and respond to inquiries.
• Monitor compliance with federal laws, Navy Federal and investor guidelines; resolve processing issues.
• Be available during evenings and weekends as needed; promote Navy Federal mortgage products at events.
