Job summary

Pulte Mortgage in Denver, CO is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the integrity and accuracy of financial records by maintaining the general ledger and assisting with month-end close and reporting.

You’ll partner with Accounting, FP&A and operations to reconcile accounts, prepare schedules and support internal/external audits. Requires a high school diploma and 2 years accounting experience; strong Excel skills and GAAP knowledge are essential. Hybrid work with benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2 years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
• Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries to support accurate month-end close.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Perform month-end account reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Assist with preparation of internal financial statements and management reports.
• Support regulatory reporting and required filings.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation.
• Assist with accounts payable processing and related reconciliations as needed.
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, and operational teams to support accurate financial outcomes.
