Title: Mortgage Credit Analyst
Overview: This position will report directly to the VP of Mortgage Credit. You will learn and participate in all aspects of mortgage credit, data and pipeline management. You will work with operations, credit, capital markets, and technology teams to help manage the loan pipeline, problem solve issues, and create/improve reporting and processes in support of a fast-growing firm and multiple new business initiatives. Ideal candidate will have mortgage underwriting experience, strong technology capabilities, be detail oriented, and have a focus on driving efficiencies through technology.
Job Description:
· Research/understand loan conditions, data differences and work with stakeholders to find solutions
· Proactively escalate loan and service issues to the VP of Mortgage Credit or other internal teams when necessary
· Assist with creating best practices and overall improvement of loan process (due diligence, funding, data reconciliation, etc.)
· Work closely with origination clients (sellers), due diligence companies and internal teams to move loans through the purchase process
· Work with technology, operations, credit, and capital markets teams to automate and implement process efficiencies
Required Skills / Qualifications:
· Mortgage data, underwriting, and/or credit experience
· Understanding of loan closing documents and underwriting guidelines is preferred
· Proficiency in Excel
· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Strong attention to detail
