Job summary

Jobtailor in Honolulu, Hawaii, is seeking a Mortgage Underwriter Quality Control Specialist to audit mortgage loan files and measure performance against policy and regulatory standards.

You will perform pre-funding and post-closing file reviews, maintain strong working relationships with loan originations and servicing teams, and ensure adherence to investor requirements, internal controls, and applicable laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
• With bachelor’s degree: 1 year of experience in underwriting mortgage loans, loan processing, and/or QC underwriting.
• Without bachelor’s degree (or equivalent): 3 years of experience in underwriting mortgage loans, loan processing, and/or QC underwriting.
• 2-3 years of experience in real estate lending, mortgage compliance, or mortgage banking.
• One year of experience in underwriting mortgage loans, loan processing, and/or QC underwriting.

Responsibilities

• Auditing mortgage loan files to measure performance against legal, regulatory compliance, credit underwriting, investor and internal bank policies.
• Performing file reviews for both pre-funding and post-closing loans to ensure compliance with defined policies and procedures.
• Maintaining a strong professional relationship with personnel in the loan originations and loan servicing departments.
