Job summary

CrossCountry Mortgage, LLC is seeking a Collateral Underwriter to assess collateral for conventional loans originated through our retail platform. You will analyze appraisal reports, ensure compliance with agency and investor guidelines, and render final underwriting decisions with strong attention to service levels.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ mortgage underwriting experience.
• Experience in collateral underwriting, preferred.
• Working knowledge of all agency and investor underwriting policies.
• Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Advanced analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, evaluate, and decision appraisal reports in accordance with all agency and investor guidelines and standards.
• Complete comprehensive collateral reviews in a timely manner to meet service level expectations.
• Maintain a pipeline and communicate issues to Appraisers, Processor, and Originators.
• Remain informed and current on all agency and investor guidelines and updates.
• Exercise delegated lending authority to render final underwriting decisions, including loan approvals, suspensions, and denials, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and investor requirements.
• Maintain a high level of customer service.
• Collaborate with the Post Closing Department on any stipulations for closed files.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
