Job summary

Marine Credit Union is seeking an experienced supervisor to oversee the loan closing and funding team. The role ensures accurate closing packages for in-house and secondary market loans and timely fundings while balancing multiple general ledgers.

The position emphasizes leadership, coaching, and maintaining strong member relationships, with collaboration with the Mortgage Processing Manager to optimize workflows and compliance.

Qualifications

  • College Degree in Business, Finance, Math, Accounting, or related field desired.
  • 5+ years of lending experience desired.
  • 3+ years of supervisor/management experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day supervision of loan closing and funding activities.
  • Prepare accurate loan closing packages for in-house and secondary market loans within regulatory timelines.
  • Ensure accurate loan fundings onto Marine Credit Union’s core system and balance GLs.
  • Maintain efficient member service and relationships.
  • Plan and organize workload assignments of staff.
  • Conduct 1-on-1’s and team meetings with Mortgage Processing Manager.
  • Provide training and coaching to closing and funding team members.
  • Complete audit responses applicable to closing documents and funding findings.
  • Prepare and provide reporting as needed to Mortgage Processing Manager.
  • Provide Quality Control prior to closing and post-closing.
  • Ensure Final Title Policies are timely and accurate.

Position Summary:

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Day-to-day supervision of the activities with the loan closing and funding areas.
  • Preparation of accurate loan closing packages for in-house and secondary market loans within required regulatory timelines.
  • Responsible for accurate loan fundings onto Marine Credit Union’s core system and balancing of various GL’s.
  • Maintaining efficient member service and relationships.
  • Plan and organize workload assignments of staff.
  • Conduct 1 on 1’s and team meetings in conjunction with the Mortgage Processing Manager.
  • Provide training and coaching to closing and funding team members.
  • Complete audit responses applicable to closing documents and funding findings.
  • Prepare and provide reporting as needed to Mortgage Processing Manager.
  • Provide Quality Control prior to closing and post-closing.
  • Ensure Final Title Policies are timely and accurate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of credit union operations focused on mortgage lending.
  • Ability to provide critical feedback to all team members.
  • Ability to influence, educate, and connect team and members to technology.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to Credit Union operations policies and procedures.
  • Previous experience in customer service.
  • Knowledge in Symitar, Salesforce, Encompass, and Synergy.
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac requirements.
  • Leadership abilities including employee coaching and development for quality, performance, and results.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage workflow, staffing needs, projects, and departmental priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience:
  • College Degree in Business, Finance, Math, Accounting, or related field desired.
  • 5+ years of lending experience desired.
  • 3+ years of supervisor/management experience desired.
Physical Requirements

  • Occasional bending, stooping, or crouching may be required.
