Job summary

North State Bank in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Mortgage Accounting Manager to lead the accounting operations of our Mortgage Division. You will oversee financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance activities to ensure data integrity and strong controls.

Ideal candidates hold a CPA or are pursuing one, have 5+ years of mortgage accounting experience, and excel in collaboration with executives and auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Active CPA license or in process of obtaining CPA license.
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in banking/financial services.
• Strong understanding of mortgage accounting and originate-to-sell model.
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals, internal controls, and audit support.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting function for the Mortgage Division and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Maintain integrity and functionality of mortgage accounting databases and reporting systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting capabilities.
• Support compliance reviews, GAAP updates, and regulatory examinations.
