Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Accepts directions from supervising teachers and works as a team.

Responsibilities

• Implement classroom adaptations as specified by a student's IEP while working closely with Special Education staff and maintaining confidentiality.
• Assist student(s) with instruction in basic skills, social skills and routine assistance for students who need support with managing extreme behaviors, toileting, hygiene, medical and mobility needs.
• Assist students with organizational skills, such as keeping materials organized, homework assignments, lockers and daily check-in/out; may transport students to sites for job skill building as stated in the IEP.
• Supervise special education students to ensure safety.
• Assist with collecting and monitoring of student progress data.
