Job summary

Legacy Nursing & Rehabilitation of Bryan is seeking a dependable Dietary Cook for the morning shift (5:30 AM–2:00 PM). You will prepare and serve quality meals and snacks for residents in a clean, organized kitchen.

Experience cooking is required; skilled nursing or long-term care experience is preferred but not required. A high school diploma is preferred. You are serving residents who call our facility home and helping make their dining experiences meaningful.

Qualifications

• Cooking experience is required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve quality, appetizing meals and snacks for residents.
• Prepare resident meal trays, substitutions, snacks, and special nourishments.
• Help ensure meals are prepared accurately and served on time.
• Follow resident tray cards and dietary instructions.
• Monitoring and recording food and equipment temperatures.
• Labeling, dating, storing, and rotating food and supplies.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and work area.
• Help keep meal service organized and running smoothly.
• Work alongside Dietary Aides, Dishwashers, and the Dietary Manager.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and facility standards.
• Help create a positive dining experience for residents.
