New Bedford Public School District's PRAB - Food Service - Central Kitchen in New Bedford, Massachusetts is hiring a 6.5 Hour Cafeteria Worker (6 AM – 1 PM). This entry-level role operates under the Food Service Director and Cafeteria Manager and performs a variety of unskilled duties in food service and related labor.

You will receive and store food supplies, assist kitchen staff, stock and organize goods, wash pots and pans, set up and serve lunch lines, and help with breakfast preparation.

Qualifications

• High School/Trade School degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and related food service items in storage areas.
• Carry food supplies, equipment and utensils to and from storage and work areas.
• Assist kitchen staff with various tasks as needed, and provide cooks with needed items.
• Stock and organize goods.
• Responsible for equipment handling rules.
• Wash dry and store pots and pans.
• Prepare sandwiches.
• Set up and serve student lunch line in a timely manner.
• Clean up serving area, tables and carts.
• Sweep and wash kitchen floors.
• Set up, run and clean dishwasher equipment.
• Prepare and set up breakfast.
• Follow work schedules as assigned by food service Director/ cafeteria manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
