Job summary

Waypoint Services For Women Children and Families is hiring a Morning Assistant Teacher for school-age kids in Summit, IA. This part-time morning position runs Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 9:00 AM at KidsPoint C Street, with no evenings or weekends.

You will help lead engaging activities, support children’s development, and supervise in a safe, structured environment. A friendly team and opportunities for training are offered as part of a supportive program.

Qualifications

• Be at least 16 years old.
• Have a high school diploma/GED (or be working toward one).
• One year of childcare experience is preferred but not required; training is provided.
• Reliable transportation and punctuality are important.
• Comfort interacting with children and communicating with parents.
• Willingness to complete required training (CPR/First Aid, etc.).
• Ability to stay active and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead age-appropriate activities and learning experiences for school-age kids.
• Support children's social, emotional, and physical development.
• Supervise to maintain a safe environment at all times.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
• Keep the classroom organized and ready for learning.
• Encourage good behavior and problem solving through positive guidance.
• Assist with daily routines such as snacks, hygiene, and transitions.
