Job summary

The University of the District of Columbia is seeking morning part-time instructors to teach courses across construction, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, BIM, and related areas. Instructors will deliver lectures and hands-on labs, develop curricula, and manage class rosters and progress reports.

Incumbents must hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, have relevant certification, and demonstrate teaching potential in the subject areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in subject matter area.
• Prior teaching experience in the subject field/industry or must demonstrate evidence of teaching potential.
• Must possess current certification in subject matter (Certification must be the same as the course being taught).
• Be familiar with subject area certification processes, guidelines, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on, guided, differentiated instruction to students in the courses as scheduled.
• Prepare course materials and lesson plans; evaluate and select texts as assigned.
• Maintain records of enrollment, attendance, assessments, and submit rosters and grades by deadlines.
• Post syllabus, assignments, and other materials using the learning management system and communicate with students.
