Job summary

Dexterra Group is hiring a part-time janitor to help keep a mall in Norfolk, VA clean and ready for opening and closing. You will perform routine cleaning, sweep, mop, maintain washrooms, and ensure sidewalks are clear.

You will handle cleaning chemicals safely, lift up to 25 lbs, dispose of hazardous materials per regulations, and use proper supplies and equipment. Join an industry leader and contribute to public safety and cleanliness.

Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB?

• Ensuring mall is ready for opening and cleaned at closing time
• Keep sidewalks clean of garbage
• Leaf blowing and power washing areas
• Remove garbage from waste containers throughout the mall and clean up litter on walkways (lift up to 25 lbs)
• Use proper cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment
• Handle and dispose of hazardous materials and blood-borne pathogens according to state and federal regulations
• Perform other janitorial duties as required
• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping floors, and cleaning walls and windows
• Maintain cleanliness of washrooms, including hourly checks and restocking supplies
• Be #1 on day 1 by joining an industry leader.
• Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment
• Familiarity with proper use of cleaning chemicals in compliance with regulations
• Understanding of hazardous materials and blood-borne pathogen disposal procedures
