Job summary

Presque Isle Comprehensive Treatment Center, part of Acadia Healthcare, is seeking a part-time LPN Dispensing Nurse to support an outpatient MAT OTP in Presque Isle, Maine. The role involves patient assessment, medication administration, vital signs, and collaboration with the clinical team in a compliant setting.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited LPN/LVN nursing diploma, prefer 1 year in behavioral health or outpatient treatment, and be proficient with EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (LPN/LVN).
• Prefer 1 year of nursing experience in behavioral health, outpatient treatment program, or addiction recovery field.
• Training or experience in outpatient treatment programs is preferred.
• Ability to operate, monitor, and maintain medical equipment safely and effectively.
• Skilled in drawing blood and collecting specimens for lab testing.
• Proficient in EMR systems and related clinical software applications.
• Competent in patient assessment including evaluating medical histories, symptoms, and overall condition.
• Ability to monitor and record vital signs accurately.
• Ability to administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
• Able to observe and document patient responses and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Work under supervision of the Nursing Supervisor and Clinic Director.
• Prepare and administer medication as ordered accurately and timely.
• Document medication administration and nursing care in patient records promptly.
• Ensure safekeeping and accurate inventory of all medication stock and records as required by regulatory agencies.
• Maintain accurate accounting of medications received and dispensed.
• Dedicate approximately 90% of work hours to medication administration activities.
• Conduct and process urine and blood samples, read test results, and assist in monitoring patient outcomes.
• Complete all documentation in accordance with clinic standards.
• May transport medication to other locations or work on a Mobile Unit.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
