Job summary

MAAC is seeking a part-time Food Service Helper at the North Coast Center in Oceanside, CA. The role involves assisting in food preparation, distribution, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness, with occasional driving to sites for food delivery.

Basic English literacy and a six-month kitchen/food service background are required, with CPR/First Aid and Food Handler certs to be obtained within 10 days. The position offers 25 hours per week, year-round (50 weeks) with a schedule from 7:45 am to 12:45

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of kitchen/food service experience.
• Knowledge of large-scale food production, sanitation and safety procedures; inventory and records.
• Ability to problem solve, follow directions, and learn quickly; CPR/First Aid and Food Handler certificates within 10 days of employment; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and distribution of meals and snacks; maintain kitchen cleanliness and food-serving areas.
• Maintain inventories and records for CA CFP requirements; manage temperature logs and ordering.
• Place food orders and assist in kitchen tasks; support sites with food distribution.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and surfaces; drive to sites for food service delivery as needed.
• Interact with parents and participants; participate in required MAAC meetings and trainings.
