Job summary

The Greater Austin YMCA is hiring a Kids Play Team Member for morning shifts in Austin, TX. You will create a safe, engaging space for children 6 weeks to 12 years old and support a curriculum that fosters social, physical, spiritual, and cognitive growth.

Responsibilities include leading hands-on activities, guiding groups, supervising health and safety, and communicating with families. Growth mindset and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Experience in childcare is advantageous.
• Experience with children aged 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Current First Aid, CPR/AED certifications preferred.
• Ability to work 7:45 AM–12:15 PM, Mon–Sat with at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging activities for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Foster teamwork through group games and projects.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming environment and supervise children.
• Greet families and communicate progress with them.
• Interact at children's level and support development.
• Attend staff meetings and follow safety standards.
• Promote YMCA mission and serve as program ambassador.
