Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area to/from trailers. Starting pay is $21.16 per hour with full-time hours 7:00–12:00. You will operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to move freight, verify documents, and secure cargo for loading. This role requires basic math, communication, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 75–100 pounds and handle dock plates multiple times per day.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify documents match freight description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, etc.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Conduct hostling duties if required.
