Job summary

Gallagher Services - a Catholic Charities program in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Direct Support Professional for the morning shift (Monday to Friday, 7 AM - 11 AM). The role supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping with daily routines, meals, and community activities.

You will work closely with a caring team to promote dignity, independence, and meaningful life activities. A compassionate communicator who enjoys building connections will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care in a way that promotes dignity, independence, and choice.
• Assist people in preparing meals of their choice and maintain a clean, safe kitchen while promoting independence.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speech.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self.
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support.
