Job summary

Missouri State University is seeking a Custodian I to perform semi-skilled custodial services across university facilities, following established procedures to maintain classrooms, offices, restrooms and common areas. The position is open to current full-time MSU employees represented by IBEW; first shift, 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities include floor and carpet cleaning, furniture setup for events, light maintenance, snow and ice removal, waste and recycling

Qualifications

• One year of custodial experience or related cleaning duties.
• Ability to read and understand written work orders and safety instructions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled floor and stairs cleaning using hand tools or powered machines.
• Clean carpet, upholstery, and classroom furnishings as assigned.
• Set up classrooms and meeting spaces for events per instructions.
• Clean restrooms and replenish supplies to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Assist with snow/ice removal and safety of walkways.
• Protect facilities by reporting damages and maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift.
