Job summary

Norris Recreation Center, part of the St. Charles Park District, is hiring a part-time Child Care Attendant. The role runs 8am–11am, Monday through Friday, serving children ages 6 weeks to 11 years.

You will supervise activities, provide safe, supportive care, and deliver excellent customer service to families in the facility. Required certifications include First Aid/CPR/AED and DCFS Mandated Reporter; 16+ age minimum.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16; ability to work with children 6 weeks–11 years.
• Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire.
• Maintain DCFS Mandated Reporter certification within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: High School diploma or completion of Early Childhood Education courses; 1 year of experience with young children.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of children in activities and supervise interactions.
• Provide excellent customer service to members and facility guests.
• Ensure safety and follow opening/closing procedures; report issues to supervisor.
• Perform first aid and CPR; execute emergencies as needed.
• Attend trainings and coordinate with instructors and supervisors.
