Job summary

Barden's Boat Yard Inc. in Massachusetts seeks a full-time Mooring Barge Operator to maintain moorings, inspect gear, and perform seasonal tasks. Responsibilities include winterizing and spring commissioning of pennants, buoys, and related gear, plus painting and power-washing as needed.

Must operate and maintain a 30’ barge with twin outboards and a hydraulic knuckle boom. The role requires independent work ability, lifting 50 lbs+, and routine mooring inspections.

Mooring barge operator is a full‑time position of mooring maintenance. Responsibilities include the maintenance of approximately 300 moorings which will need wintersticks removed and pennants reinstalled in the spring and vice versa in the fall. Moorings also require inspections. Pennants and buoys will have to be power‑washed at the time of hauling and painted over the winter and inspected for wear and tear. Must be able to operate and maintain a 30’ barge with twin outboards to include a hydraulic knuckle boom. The applicant must be able to work independently. Must be able to lift over 50 lbs at times. Salary is based on experience. Benefits include health insurance (company pays 50%), 401(k), bonuses (mid‑season and end‑of‑year), life insurance, vacation time and sick time.
