Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company is hiring an Electro-mechanic/Mechatronic technician in El Paso, TX. The role focuses on maintaining medical equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring lines run smoothly in a high-volume environment.

Ideal candidates have an Electro mechanic or Mechatronic background, PLC and hydraulics knowledge, and at least 2 years in a similar position. You will work closely with mechanics and other maintenance staff, upholding safety and cleanliness standards.

Qualifications

• Electro mechanic or Mechatronic Engineer background preferred.
• PLC knowledge preferred.
• 2 years of experience in a similar position.

Responsibilities

• Attend calls when equipment has problems or is down.
• Verify machines are operational in assigned area.
• Follow preventive maintenance programs and document maintenance.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and keep tools ready.
• Suggest ideas for equipment improvement and participate in changes.
• Coordinate with mechanics and senior mechanics during shift changes.
• Follow EH&S and LOTO procedures when required.

Job description

Responsibilities

• To attend any call when equipment has problems or is down.
• Must be presented in advance to the assigned work area to check that the machines are going to work and assure they are in good condition.
• Follows the applicable preventive maintenance programs, described in the list of production equipment F76PM019.
• Registers correctly the preventive maintenance of the equipment assigned.
• Maintains his/her area clean and orderly.
• Always has his /her tool available for any call that is made.
• Participate and suggest ideas for improvement on any equipment.
• Follow of activities with Mechanic and Sr. Mechanic fellows when required for change of shift.
• Comply and follow-up Safety and Hygiene procedures (EH&S) and Lock Out Tag Out procedures (LOTO) when required.

Education and Experience

• An Electro mechanic, Electric, Mechanic technical level.
• Preferably Electro mechanic, Mechatronic Engineer.
• Theoretical-practical knowledge of the function of a PLC preferred.
• Theoretical-practical knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics preferred.
• Theoretical-practical knowledge of electricity and electronics preferred.
• 2 years of experience in a similar position preferably.
