Job summary

Santiam Women’s Clinic and Family Birth Center in Stayton, OR, is seeking a talented Certified Nurse Midwife for moonlighting, on-call shifts in a supportive, collaborative environment.

You will manage labor and delivery for low-risk pregnancies, provide prenatal/postpartum care, and collaborate with obstetricians and nurses to ensure high-quality care. Flexible weekday call hours and comprehensive malpractice insurance are included.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a nurse midwifery program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education
• Current certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board
• Licensure by the Oregon State Board of Nursing to practice as a Nurse Midwife/Nurse Practitioner
• Current ACLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification
• Strong clinical skills in managing low-risk pregnancies and deliveries

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first call OB provider during weekday shifts, managing labor and delivery for low-risk patients
• Conduct prenatal assessments, monitor labor progression, and provide intrapartum and postpartum care
• Provide clinic coverage for prenatal care and weekly OB checks as needed, including routine examinations and patient consultations
• Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care
• Respond promptly to patient needs during call shifts, including emergencies, while adhering to hospital protocols
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
• Provide patient education and support for natural childbirth, breastfeeding and postpartum recovery
• Uphold the hospital’s commitment to compassionate, holistic, and evidence-based care
