Job summary

METECS in Houston is seeking a Spacecraft Avionics and C&DH Systems Engineer to support NASA EV2 C&DH Branch, contributing to Moon Base habitats, power, and lunar surface assets.

You will work with NASA personnel, contractors, and engineering teams to develop requirements, evaluate options, define interfaces, and mature integrated Moon Base C&DH concepts through reviews, tests, and demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering, systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience with spacecraft avionics, C&DH, embedded computing, network architecture, or data systems.
• Experience with network protocols and avionics communication systems.
• Ability to evaluate information, identify integration issues, and make practical engineering recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to coordinate with customers and teams.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and create engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop Moon Base C&DH, avionics, computing, and network architecture.
• Define requirements, interfaces, interoperability, redundancy, and fault management.
• Identify architecture gaps, integration risks, constraints, and issues.
• Evaluate computing and networking approaches for reliability and performance.
• Develop testbeds, simulations, and emulators for integration and verification.
• Coordinate technical activities with NASA, contractors, partners, and teams.
• Document decisions, results, risks, and recommendations.
