Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools in Warren, NJ is seeking a Teacher Assistant for Infant and Preschool classes. The role supports Lead Teachers to help children explore, grow, and build independence within a nurturing Montessori setting.

You will contribute warmth, guidance, and encouragement as children try new experiences, form friendships, and gain confidence. This position runs Monday through Friday with two shift options: 8:00 am–1:00 pm or 3:00 pm–6:00 pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• A genuine love of children.
• Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
• Understanding of health and safety guidelines.
• Ability to multi-task in a changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students.
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication.
• Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality and creativity.
• Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs.
