Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Remote Monitoring Aide (RMA) to join the Sitter - Remote Monitoring team at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. The role supports RNs by assisting with vital signs, mobility and personal care while monitoring patient conditions on the unit.

The position is part-time evening, 3:00pm–11:00pm, with every other weekend and some holidays. BLS certification required; CNA or clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification current at time of hire.
• Nursing assistant experience or CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Remote Monitoring Aide (RMA) - RWJBarnabas Health

As a Monitoring Aide (RMA), a typical day may include:

• Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
• Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
• Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients
• Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions
• Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient's care
• Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

To be considered for this RMA opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma / GED and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate. This position offers a Part‑Time Evening schedule from 3:00pm to 11:00pm and includes every other weekend as well as some holidays.
