RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant II for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. You will support registered nurses, take vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and monitor patient conditions in Cardio Prog Care/Telemetry.

This full-time night shift role requires a HS diploma or GED, current BLS, and CNA experience or certification. Benefits include a market-competitive package and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

High School Diploma / GED and current BLS certification.
Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate.
Full-Time Night schedule from 11:00pm to 7:00am with every other weekend and some holidays.

Responsibilities

Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGs, performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care.
Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status.
Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns.
Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) in emergencies such as CPR when needed.
Participate in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning.

As a Nursing Assistant (NA), a typical day may include:

Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients
Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgement and critical actions
Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient's care
Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

To be considered for this NA opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma / GED and a current American Heart Association BLS certification.
