Minimum one (1) year experience in a hospital setting preferred
Monitorscardiac rhythms throughout the facility via centrally located telemetry monitors.
Maintains ongoing, high-level surveillance of patients’ cardiac rhythms and communicates information about dysrhythmias to the patient care nurse/Charge Nurse.
Measures and interprets patients’ heart rhythms and documents in patient record, per policy.
Initiates/discontinues monitoring on admission, transfer or discharge. Performs configuration as necessary.
Answers telephone and communicates clearly when receiving information from patient care units and/or physicians.
Troubleshoots monitors with nursing staff and contacts Facilities/Biomed as appropriate.
Gives report to oncoming shift.
Cleans monitoring equipment, per policy
Performsclerical duties including distribution of messages.
Performsclinical duties, under the direction of an RN or LVN, including assisting patients to the restroom, removing IV catheters, etc.
Cleansrooms if needed.
Providesclinical, clerical and telephone support in emergencies
AssistsRN’s as instructed.
