Job Highlights

The Central Monitoring Unit (CMU) supports acute and intermediate care patients who require continuous cardiac and pulse oximetry monitoring. This team provides real-time, system-wide cardiac surveillance across multiple inpatient units and facilities, serving as a critical safety layer for monitoring accuracy, early detection of deterioration, and reliable data availability. CMU is unique for its hybrid care model that combines continuous remote surveillance with hands-on direct patient care through application and maintenance of telemetry equipment at the bedside. As part of this team, you’ll help ensure accurate lead placement, strong signal quality, and immediate escalation to support timely clinical intervention. If you have strong attention to detail and thrive in a highly specialized environment with a focus on technical excellence, clinical pattern recognition, and consistent monitoring practices, CMU offers a meaningful way to impact patient safety at UAB Hospital facilities.
