Job summary

Overlake Hospital Medical Center is seeking a monitor technician to observe cardiac rhythms continuously and oversee remote patient monitoring. You will identify arrhythmias, document findings, and alert the RN as needed. If on remote video, you will record observations in the EHR system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months’ experience in a health-related field required.
• Previous cardiac monitor tech experience preferred.
• Must pass arrhythmia identification test before hire or during intro period.

The monitor technician is responsible for the continuous observation of cardiac rhythms and remote video observation of patients who meet remote monitoring criteria. Techs are to recognize cardiac arrhythmias, document on monitor strips, and notify the assigned RN of arrhythmia changes. Additionally, if remote video observing, the tech documents observations in the electronic health record.

Schedule: 24 hours per week 12-hour shifts/Nights

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Six months’ experience in a health-related field required.
• Previous cardiac monitor tech experience preferred.
• Must be able to successfully pass the arrhythmia identification test prior to hire, or within introductory period.
