Job summary

GW Hospital in Washington, DC seeks a detail-oriented Monitor Technician to join the Telemetry team. You will observe and interpret cardiac rhythms, ensure prompt recognition of arrhythmias, and collaborate with nursing staff for timely intervention.

You will monitor rhythms, report abnormalities, maintain equipment, and document findings. A high school diploma and a recognized EKG/Telemetry certification are required; prior telemetry or patient-care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Completion of a recognized EKG/Telemetry certification program.
  • Previous telemetry monitoring or patient-care experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • BLS certification (AHA).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms on telemetry patients.
  • Recognize and report abnormal rhythms, arrhythmias, and changes in patient status.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Monitor Technician to join our Telemetry team. The Monitor Tech plays a critical role in patient care by continuously observing and interpreting cardiac rhythms, ensuring prompt recognition of arrhythmias, and collaborating with nursing staff for timely intervention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms on telemetry patients.
  • Recognize and report abnormal rhythms, arrhythmias, and changes in patient status.
  • Maintain telemetry monitoring equipment and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing and medical teams regarding patient findings.
  • Assist in setting up and discontinuing telemetry monitoring as needed.
