Position Summary / Career Interest

The Monitor Technician performs surveillance and interpretation of cardiac rhythms via telemetry monitoring for patients throughout the hospital on telemetry-capable units.

Position Details
  • Title: MONITOR TECHNICIAN
  • Schedule: Days - Part Time
  • Location: Bell Hospital
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Assist with telemetry monitoring of patients as requested by various departments within the hospital, including lead placement, changing batteries, and equipment assignment.
  • Ensure cardiac rhythm equipment and software are programmed with the correct patient and staff information.
  • Communicate changes in patient’s cardiac rhythm status to appropriate staff within designated timelines.
  • Complete cardiac rhythm interpretations on assigned patients.
  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment and restock supplies.
  • Perform professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
  • Other duties as assigned, depending on department needs.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: High School Graduate or GED.

Preferred Education and Experience: Healthcare tech experience such as Nursing or Medical Student, EMT, Paramedic, MA, or CNA.

Required Licensure and Certification: BLS or BCLS from the American Heart Association; pass telemetry exam within 90 days.

Preferred Licensure and Certification: EMT, Paramedic license, or enrolled in Medical/Nursing school.

Knowledge and Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift over 10 pounds and walk distances.
