Landmark Hospital of Athens is seeking a Monitor Technician to join our team under the supervision of the Charge Nurse. You will monitor cardiac rhythms, maintain monitoring documentation, and support the nursing unit as a primary receptionist and secretarial resource.

The role requires good computer and math skills, a high school diploma, and BLS certification; prior telemetry experience and completion of our Clinical Education and Dysrhythmia course are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year in telemetry observation.
  • Successful completion of Landmark Hospital of Athens Clinical Education and Dysrhythmia course and EKG exam prior to completion of orientation.
  • Must be organized, a team player and detail-oriented.
  • Good computer and math skills.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously and maintain monitoring documentation.
  • Assist with communications, answer call lights and transcription of physician orders.
  • Serve as the primary receptionist and secretarial resource for the nursing unit.
  • Prepare and ensure completion of patients' medical records and communicate changes in patient rhythm to unit personnel.

Landmark Hospital of Athens is looking for a Monitor Technician to join our team! Landmark Hospital is the premier Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital of Athens. Summary: Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, the Monitor Technician is responsible for continuously monitoring cardiac rhythms, maintaining monitoring documentation and equipment. In addition, the unit secretary assists with the functions such as assisting with communications, answering call lights and transcription of physician orders. He/she serves as the primary receptionist and secretarial resource for the nursing unit, assists in ordering supplies, tracking charges and other assigned duties.

The technician directs communication with the nursing unit, prepares and ensures completion of the patients' medical records. Answers telephone and communicates clearly when receiving information from units or providers. Uses clear and complete communication with unit personnel when delivering information about changes in patient rhythm.

The candidate must manage stress appropriately and have the ability to make decisions under pressure. This position is performed in a safe, functional and effective manner that reduces hazards and risks, prevents accidents and injuries and maintains safe conditions by adhering to established safety standards, demonstrates ability to set priorities.
