Job summary

Landmark Hospital of Athens is seeking a Monitor Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, you will monitor cardiac rhythms, maintain documentation, and support the nursing unit as a primary receptionist and secretary.

You will assist in communications, transcription, and supply orders while ensuring accurate medical records and safe patient care in a LTAC hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in telemetry observation.
• Successful completion of Landmark Hospital of Athens Clinical Education and Dysrhythmia course and EKG exam prior to completion of orientation.
• Must be organized, a team player and detail-oriented.
• Good computer and math skills.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously and maintain monitoring documentation and equipment.
• Assist with unit secretary duties: communications, answering call lights and transcription of physician orders.
• Serve as primary receptionist and secretarial resource for the nursing unit; assist in ordering supplies and tracking charges.
• Prepare and ensure completion of patients' medical records; answer telephone and communicate clearly with units or providers.
• Demonstrate stress management and make decisions under pressure; maintain safety and prioritize tasks.
