Job summary

OU Health's Tulsa Pediatric Cardiology Clinic is seeking a Monitor Tech to oversee telemetry for pediatric patients in Tulsa. Under supervision, you will monitor patients after attachment to the telemetry unit, print rhythm strips daily, and ensure alarms are properly set. You may assist with ECGs and equipment troubleshooting.

Requires a High School diploma or GED and current BLS certification. No prior experience is necessary, and strong computer and interpersonal skills are valued to support

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
• Knowledge of basic arrhythmia interpretations and ECG tracings helpful.
• Good computer skills.
• Good interpersonal skills to develop effective working relationships with staff.

Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry setup on patients under general supervision.
• Check for accurate date/time printout on rhythm strips.
• Provide daily printings of each patient’s rhythm strip.
• Maintain appropriate alarm settings for each patient.
• Assist in troubleshooting monitor equipment.
• Alert staff when a patient is in crisis.
• Perform ECGs as needed.
• Maintain supplies for monitor area.
