INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK, is hiring a Night Shift, Full-Time Monitor Tech Lead. The role involves supervising staff, operating advanced cardiac monitoring systems, and ensuring accurate patient monitoring during episodes of care.

The Monitor Technician Lead reports to the department director or manager. Candidates should have 1 year of Monitor Technician experience and basic ECG interpretation knowledge, with strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1 year Monitor Technician experience preferred.
• Completion and passing score of Basic ECG Interpretation course or equivalent; or 6 months prior ECG experience.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Supervises department staff, including hiring, scheduling, evaluating performance and competency, and conducting disciplinary/counseling sessions as needed
• Operates complex cardiac monitoring systems, including ECG rhythm screens, computerized dysrhythmia detection system, and rhythm strip printers
• Maintains accurate neat account of patients cardiac monitoring status during episode of care
• Identifies and records patient rhythm in patient log as appropriate
• Verbally communicates report on pertinent patient/monitor data to/from appropriate colleagues
• During code situations, maintains contact with appropriate staff to assist with rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia detection
• Contacts biomedical engineering in a timely manner when the monitor equipment malfunctions
• Ensure and maintain proper operation and up keep of monitoring equipment
• Monitors supply usage and deficiencies and reports to manager of need to re-order.
• Effectively communicates with other departments in an effort to resolve issues ensuring efficient and optimal patient care outcomes.

The Monitor Technician Lead reports to the director or manager of the department.

Consistently viewing monitor screens for up to four hours at a time (and up to 8 hours per day). Occasional exposure to blood and body fluids. Exposed to constant interruptions in performance of office duties. Daily exposed to corrosive disinfectants when cleansing equipment for entry and exit of surgery or isolation areas. May be required to work a variety of shifts.
