Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is seeking a Central Monitor Tech to identify cardiac rhythms and promptly notify nurses of rhythm changes. This full-time day-shift position involves overseeing 41 rhythm channels in a central monitoring area and supporting unit operations under RN direction.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, plus a nursing assistant course or current nursing program enrollment, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an approved nursing assistant or unit secretary course; or currently attending an approved Nursing program (RN, LPN).
• Rhythm Identification Course within 90 days of hire.
• Strip Identification Test within 30 days of hire
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor 41 rhythm channels in a central area.
• Assist nursing unit operations under the direction of the RN.
• Clerical and specific patient care activities.
• Communicate rhythm changes to the nurse and support staff.

Job Overview:

• As directed, will assume responsibility for facilitating nursing unit operations under the direction of the RN.


• These duties include clerical and specific patient care activities.


• Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required.


• Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times.


• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED equivalent. Completion of an approved nursing assistant or unit secretary course; or currently attending an approved Nursing program (RN, LPN).


• Previous experience as Unit Secretary preferred


• Rhythm Identification Course within 90 days of hire.


• Strip Identification Test within 30 days of hire


• BLS.
