Piedmont Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, GA, is seeking a Monitor Technician to perform continuous ECG monitoring, assess EKG strips, and interpret cardiac rhythms in a high‑acuity ICU setting.
You will maintain telemetry inventories, report malfunctions promptly, and support patient families while ensuring accurate telemetry workflow; certification preferred; HS diploma or GED required; prior monitor tech experience is a plus.
It's Time to Get Better! Piedmont Eastside Medical is 310-bed multi-campus facility, serving Gwinnett and surrounding counties. Piedmont Eastside Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit provides high quality care to critically ill adult patients with varying critical conditions. This 24-bed mixed unit utilizes evidence based best practices in caring for patients and their families. Although Piedmont Eastside is not a trauma or open-heart capable facility, we are able to care for critical patients of nearly all other varieties.
Possesses knowledge and ability to provide continuous ECG monitoring through assessment of EKG strips and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias interpretation including: measurement of P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations. Possesses troubleshooting skills to recognize monitoring problems, identifies probable causes, and seeks solutions to correct the problem. Responsible for maintaining inventories, supplies, hardware and telemetry transmitters in working condition and responsible for appropriately reporting malfunctions promptly as applicable.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of cardiac rhythms/basic EKG interpretation.
Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) through the American Education Certification Association or Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International is preferred.
Successful completion of PHC telemetry monitoring competency assessment within 30 days of hire is required.
One (1) year of experience as a monitor technician is preferred.
