Responsibilities

The Monitor Technician will assist the patient care team by continuously observing the EKG monitor to ensure efficient, quality care and to detect and prevent life-threatening arrhythmias. The technician must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to patients on their assigned unit.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Minimum of one year clinical experience in an acute hospital setting as a Monitor Technician, EKG technician, or Cardiology Technician (highly preferred).
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Valid BLS card required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and with comprehension.
• Understanding of basic medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Self-directed with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining the Telemetry Monitoring System.
• Basic Dysrhythmia course certification.

Pay Range

$23.00 - $28.69 per hour
