Qualifications

Monitor Technician Full Time I First Shift Emergency Department I Hamburg

The Emergency Department at Baptist Health Hamburg is a part of a 344,000-square-foot medical center offering 24/7 emergency care for patients of all ages. The ED includes specialty treatment rooms, an Extended Care Unit for short-stay observation, and access to 24-hour EMS transport, including ALS ambulance support. Our team delivers high-quality, patient-focused care in a modern, collaborative environment.

Description

Observes cardiac monitor, oxygen saturation and Blood pressure. Maintains equipment and supplies. Documents and communicates information regarding patient rhythms and Oxygen saturations, and blood pressure. Responsible for identification of patient arrhythmias, abnormalities, or significant changes from baseline and reporting on the condition of patient/client to the appropriate supervisor or other health care team members. Responsible for assisting providers with cardiac monitoring, therapeutic measures, and procedures related to cardiac monitoring.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent. Less than one year's experience. RN License, LPN, prior monitor tech experience (substitute for degree) Dysrhythmia courses are completed during orientation and recertified annually. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
